The Continental Group has always strived to provide support to its most important partners – the homeowner and condominium association board members. In an effort to further reinforce and encourage enlightened and responsible leadership, The Continental Group is proud to offer a formal educational certification program for current association board and committee members who want to better understand how effective associations can and should function and how to become a more effective member of the team.
This one-hour course is offered for board and committee members who are new to the association leadership role or who feel they have gaps in their knowledge. The course will fulfill the new Florida legal requirements (as stated in section 718.112(2)(d)3.b. of the Florida Statutes) for Association Board Members and participants will receive a certificate of satisfactory completion. Focusing on the rights and responsibilities of the undertaken volunteer role, Association Board Membership: 101 provides the participant with the basics in the areas of service provision, physical asset management, and becoming a supporter and advocate for the community. The course will discuss the function of the board, the role of the manager, staff, and management company - and how all of these functions work together. A review of documents that govern associations such as the CC&R (Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions), Master Deeds, Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws and Resolutions is also accomplished during this course.
